[k]ein podcast: The Month Before Munich

We recorded this episode just before heading to Filmfest München. A good moment to look back on the last month. It started off rocky. For a week the cancellations kept coming, calls went nowhere, and we let ourselves get pulled into a downward spiral for a bit. What we take from it sounds simple and is still hard. You can only influence what is in your own hands. The rest is waiting. So keep going, even when it is all rain and wind outside.

After that a lot came easily. We finished the pitch decks for our projects and sent them to the right distributors. In between a bit of cinema, a birthday gift that leads to the IMAX in Prague, and an e-bike story we are saving for the podcast.

One highlight was Cologne. At Seriencamp, a full day of Story Vision was about European storytelling and about how big series today can hardly be made without partners across borders. The most exciting talk was called Deep Dive Development. The heads of fiction at HBO and Arte were on stage and gave a glimpse into a world that is usually very closed off. After that we went to Wetzlar. Leica opened the exhibition by Wim and Donata Wenders. For health reasons the two of them sadly could not make it. Instead we picked up our cameras fresh from service, with a small engraving for eternity.
