what we stand for

what do we want to achieve as a company, and how do we want to treat people along the way?

It all started at the Greek place. Three guys, Lino, Johannes and Jakob, who have been working in film for 6 years and were convinced they could do it differently. Even 1.5 years after founding [k]eine produktion, we still are.

Much in the industry has shifted since then, our vision hasn't. We want to create culture that lasts, in the German media industry and well beyond it.

[k]eine produktion wasn't founded to be just another film production, but to become a company that stands for its values and for culturally meaningful work. The three of us only run it on paper. [k]eine produktion is a place where people find purpose and fulfilment.

We stand up for fair working conditions. It starts with the obvious: treating people of every gender and background equally. But it doesn't end there: we keep working to be a production that stands for equality and solidarity. This process never ends.

A company, to us, is a togetherness. We work together and with foresight, in a place where people can grow, work creatively and bring their expertise together toward the best result. Every [K]eine Produktion project grows out of the people who make it and find their fulfilment in creating culture.

We take sustainability seriously. In a broader sense, we distinguish three kinds of it:

ecological sustainability

Our world is in a state that humankind brought about itself. Progress and innovation enrich our lives every day and destroy them at the same time. We see it as our job to know what ecological footprint we leave and how we produce. We follow the Green Production guidelines and, beyond that, look for new, ecologically more viable ways to produce. So that we don't, quite literally, pull the ground out from under our own feet.

societal sustainability

We stand for socially sustainable themes, projects and stories. We make sure social relevance stays visible in our work and gets treated critically. We're convinced that a healthy society benefits everyone who lives in it. We keep a sharp eye on that and act on it, always with a view to how our work affects the society of tomorrow.

Fair pay and prompt payment are a given for us, not something to point to. They're the basis of any serious working relationship.

What goes beyond that matters to us just as much. A company doesn't run on structures but on people who work with conviction and enjoy what they do. So we invest in passing on knowledge and in mentoring, in further training through workshops and coaching, and in a working environment that takes our team's mental health seriously. We see it as our responsibility to create conditions that do more than meet the legal minimum — conditions in which people can grow and find lasting fulfilment in their work.
