FERNWEH is a music video by Jaschu, shot in Albania. It follows him through
wide, almost deserted places: a disused swimming pool with empty basins and
a water slide that leads nowhere, empty stadium stands in the evening light,
mountains above a city at dusk.
The images stay calm and take their time. Jaschu is mostly alone in the frame,
often small against the open space, and by the end only a silhouette before the last light.
The places feel built for a summer that has just passed, and that is exactly
where the wanderlust of the title lies: the longing to be elsewhere, without that
elsewhere filling the emptiness.
